Users can comfortably stand at a distance from the target, point the thermometer at the surface to be measured, pull the trigger, and instantly read the temperature. This infrared thermometer can measure surface temperatures within the range of -59.9 to 999.9°C with a resolution of 0.1°C (-9.9 to 199.9°C) or 1°C. The RayTemp 38 also includes an auto power-off feature, which turns off the instrument after 60 seconds of inactivity to extend battery life. This function can be deactivated if necessary. The unit features a clear, easy-to-read, custom backlit LCD display that shows both the temperature and the emissivity. It also comes with a four-button keypad, allowing users to select the desired mode, such as maximum, minimum, differential, or average temperatures, view high and low alarms, and adjust the emissivity from 0.1 to 1.0 in 0.01 increments (default setting is 0.95).
